Julius Cesar. A large incomplete walled plain of which the S.W. ramparts have almost entirely disappeared, thus giving it the appearance of a great bay on the shores of the M. Tranquilitatis — the interior is very dark, especially to the N. It is quite smooth except for a few craterlets. There is a wide valley outside the W. wall consisting of several large confluent craters.
