Default Testing my Wifi, SharpCap, two scopes & cameras....yes it works

So I have about 4 sites in my yard that I have good views from, one is very close to the router and the other three and between 40 and 80 feet away. I use TeamViewer to control my laptop from my desktop. While using a remote setup was one of my EAA goals never got to it in summer and Fall has just been too "Dewy" to setup for anything longer than an hour here @ 500'. So yesterday to make sure that my upgrade (license wise that is) SharpCap was working properly I used the test cameras and tried all 4 sites with my lapotop/Desktop setup. Much to my delight all four areas work well.

My Laptop is an i5 with 8 gig of ram and a SSD. So I fired up a couple of other programs to simulate a multiprogram load on the laptop and played with TeamViewer moving it from my computer monitor (wide screen) to the 4K TV. Certainly not as sharp (next laptop with have at least an HD screen) as the laptop is a 720 x 1080 but still very usable. I also tried the uploading files to a specific folder on my desktop and of course the view was gorgeous - that ability with my tethering program and the 20 mpx Gx8 works well - thanks SharpCap for having the ability to down load to a folder. So my current plan is to capture stuff from the ES102/Gx8 combo in a medium sized file and send it to the desktop running on screen1 and the ZWO224 on the C8 and have the laptop process that. So cool that the AZ-EQ5 handles both in the AZ mode easily. Thus wide view and narrow view simultaneously. Hopefully a scopebuggy sometime next year for the setup so I can wheel it in and out of the basement during a clear nightj.

My Dew system was a birthday present and is on it way....nope still waiting for the ship to come in with 2 of the three parts. I ordered and got the LapDome to protect my laptop on dewy nights.

With my wifi proving to be so strong I can hardly wait to do the real thing - however after 10 days of rain and 10 more predicted it will probably be January before a clear night happens.

    Hello Gx8ES102 (and others),

My case seems pretty similar (and had noted you replied to my introduction message, tks :-) )

Just received a ZWO ASI071, with ASIair (to be tested...)
I do "assisted visualization" with a 8" Newton F4 and AZ-EQ6 at the country side (also have a 3" Takahashi FC-76DS with an Advanced Vx in my travel setup)
I prefer "large" (APS size) sensors, but find full frame too expensive
Have tried to comb the web to figure out if the ASI071 were going to be superseeded in the next few months... but didn't find much...

I am a fan of short exposures, 30 sec to 1 minute, without guiding
This because I rather visit multiple DSOs in one night than obtain just one very pretty picture :-)
And I like "plate solving" to be quickly right on target! (with AstroArt, or StarSense and soon ASIair)

I tried to insert a picture (jpg, as tiff is 62Mb) of the Horsehead Nebula, 15 frames of 1 minute each, with my former Celestron Nightscape 11Mp camera
I did upload, but NOTHING happened :-( Any clue ?
Clear skies to be able to test!
