Default Orange County (NY) Astronomy Club?

I am hoping somebody here can help me out. I am looking for contact information for the Orange County Astronomical Association in NY. The web link takes me to a generic web hosting page. The contact email bounces. I am hoping they still exist. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

    Thanks

Hello Doc, I was on the same search a while back. Apparently, the guy who was running the whole thing moved to California and none of the few members remaining get together anymore. It looks like we might just have to start our own club!!! If your interested the next best thing would be Rockland County. They have a pretty large club and get together in Warwick @ Wawayanda State Park which is in Orange County. I don't have a link but it will come up in a Google search. I find that I'm pretty content enjoying the hobby in peace and quite. Every now and then when I travel to a dark site and I get freaked out by a noise in the pitch black woods I wish I had a couple people around though! Goodluck and I hope that helped.

Good question! I gave up on that website...BUT, I'm actually looking to get with some people in this area, too! I'm not too far from you. I'm about 5 minutes from Wappingers. Almost thought of just trying to find some local people and form our own little group. Doesn't even have to be formal, just some local guys & gals wanting to get together maybe a couple nights per month, and have some astronomy fun, learn from one another, and share some coffee & stories....

If anyone is interested, let me know

    Hey Joey,

I seriously thought about my own "local club" myself! LOL

If you ever wanna get a couple guys together, let me know. I'm off Route 9-D, fairly close to the Bear Mtn Bridge. Always wanted to get together with a few people for some stargazing. Sometimes it can get a bit boring outside at night, all by yourself.

A while back, I thought about joining the Yonkers based club (at the Hudson River Museum) but, too far of a drive for me....Not worth the hassle, and didn't want to really join another club. (Already belong to enough car clubs) hehe

But, could be fun just to get a few folks together maybe a few nights per month???
