Checking in from Charlotte. Are there any astronomy type clubs or meetings nearby? I didn't read all ten pages so I'm sorry if this has been covered.

Thought I'd update my fellow North Kackalakians that there is a new Star Club on the Outer Banks. Located in Atlantic Beach we use Ft.Macon (State Park) that has monthly activities and then go to a dark sky site once a month. We also have a monthly social. All ages and experience levels. We have a FB Page in case anyone is coming down for a vacation and all are welcome to join.

I just got back into the hobby, after buying a new scope I cant even tell you why I ever gave it up.
