Default S.E. United States wet weather

Well, I've been off for two weeks for the Christmas holidays, and I've had zero chance to do any star gazing. As many know, this part of the United States has just had the wettest December on record. But, there may be good news ahead. Farmers Almanac is reporting that after the first week in January, (this week), things should start to dry out a little bit for the remainder if January and February. I hope this is accurate.

    Same here SF!
I think that I got out once early in the month, but it seems so long ago, it might have been November.
Like you, we are supposed to have some nicer weather this weekend. Very much looking forward to it!
Good luck to you and your skies.

    Thanks,
    Jim

It has been absolutely awful, indeed! One of our wettest years on record for this area. I think maybe coming in 3rd. I hope that almanac is right, because we certainly nee to dry up a bit. I'm hoping for a much better 2019!

Yeah, looks to be clear here for Friday and Saturday. Huh. So does that mean partly non-cloudy, soupy sky, or dew and fog?

Lately, our "clear" forecast translates to: "The rain temporarily stopped."

Same thing here in Maryland. Actually we have received more rain here than I can remember. I usually put about 2500 miles a season on my Harley, but with all the rain I only did approx. 700 miles in 2018 because of all the rain. Only had the scope out about a dozen times last year. I usually keep it up for a few days at a time, but with the weather, I kept taking it down when I was through for the evening.
