I'm friends with XeqtionR and we've been viewing and taking some photos on the weekends in the Altamonte Springs area. We've been getting some decent skies surprisingly. Some really good planetary views as well as some decent detail in Orion and such. Hopefully working into a equatorial mount soon so I can start taking some longer exposures through the telescopes. I'll post a few photos that I've taken recently.

Default Did you see it? Mars!

OK last night I finally got to see Mars!
It was very low on the Horizon, 10'-12'. Facing East.

I switched to 9mm Plossl and BAM! There she was!
Red Planet! I could see the Orange/Red through my Lens!
Or am I just imagining it?

Hey guys! I'm in St. Pete and there's not much dark sky here except Ft. Desoto. Currently awaiting a new xt10i and would like to get out to some real nice dark sky spots.

Anyone going to the Cedar Key star party next week? Should be fun.

I wish! That's a little too much travel for a weekend trip. Thinking about camping out near the Sunshine Sky Way this weekend though. Do some fishin' during the daylight, and some observing during the dark. Should have a nice clear view the horizon, with very little light pollution. All of course if weather permits.

Hey man. Yea weather looks a little cloudy this weekend which is unfortunate because I have a new scope arriving Friday. But of course weather permitting I will probably find my way out there! It's the only decent dark sky around here.

Wish I could make it for that. We've been getting some nice clear skies lately, hoping to get some better pictures of Saturn.
