    Our next Beginner Astronomy Class will be on Friday evening, April 1st, at 7PM at Richland College in Dallas, Texas.

    Park in LOT E the Yegua building is next to the parking lot.

    John Rudd, a member of TAS, and an Astronomical League Master Observer (with over 14 observing awards) will speak about star charts and star hopping. A star party follows the one hour class weather permitting.

    No registration is needed and the class is open to the general public and free to attend.

    Come and join us for Astronomy Day, Saturday April 16th, from 3PM- 10PM.

    Where: Russell Planetarium, 2501 Memorial Boulevard
    Mesquite, TX 75149
    (by West Mesquite High School)

    When: Saturday. April 16, 2011 from 3PM-10PM

    The event will include a meteorite display, a light pollution display, astro-item raffles, lectures, and planetarium shows.

    Weather permitting we will have solar scopes outside the planetarium during the afternoon, followed by a star party outside after dark.

    Beginner Astronomy Class-- Friday, May 6th at 7:00PM

    This is our monthly FIRST FRIDAY, beginner Astronomy class at Richland College, Dallas, TX. See the TAS Calendar link at the top of the main web site page here:

    Down The Wormhole

    Come on out and learn from one of the club's best astrphotographers! The class will be directed toward beginner's so don't worry that you will not understand JOhn's photo techniques.

    No registration needed just show up-- it's free to attend. A star party follows the 1 hour class weather permitting. TAS volunteers needed to assist with the class and to setup telescopes outside weather permitting.

    Class starts at 7:00pm in the Yegua Building Room 101.

    I consider this thread to be nothing more than blatant self promotion of what I'm sure is a fine Astronomy club. If the President of TAS finds out what you are up to I'm sure he will take you to task for it. Shame on you.
