    Hi,
Camper van and telescopes, a very good combination. Though campsites are usually too well lit!
All opinions you read here are given freely and are worth every cent.

Meade LS8 and Skywatcher 127mm Mak for observing, Pentax K5 and Modded Canon 1000d for photographing
Modified PS3 EYE for when we get planets
Mid Cheshire Astro Society and the Delamere Forest Astronomers for company
Recently added Star Adventurer for dSLR imaging.

    Hello all,

Andrew here. Been fascinated by astronomy for as long as I can remember, but only recently started getting my toes wet once again. Living just outside of Coventry, so I've go the lights of Coventry and Birmingham to contend with, but so far I've managed to get views of Uranus and Neptune, and saw M31 - although it was just a smudge of light. Going to try venturing out into the sticks, probably once Christmas is out of the way, to try and broaden my horizons - pardon the pun!

Hey everyone, representing the Midlands and Derby in particular! Long time observer with a pair of 15 x 70 celesteron binoculars just about to buy my first 10 or 12 inch dobsonian. Big shout out to Derby astronomical society!

Welcome to the forums! I've just moved into Derbyshire myself. Seems to be a few locations around here that would give good dark sky.

    Welcome to the forums, Phil!

There appears to be a society for Lancaster and Morecambe area if you haven't checked this out already...

    https://www.facebook.com/Lancasteran...omicalSociety/

Sure, that 8" dob will give you some great views if you can get it to a dark site.
