    Default Paul_S saying hello

Hi there I'm Paul and live in Kent.

Sadly I know very little about astronomy but I've signed up on here on behalf of my father-in-law. He is just starting up Caradon Observatory in Cornwall and we are just getting a feel for who is around. I am trying to tempt him onto the forum so be gentle with me!

    Cheers,

    Paul

Just got a Celestron NextStar SLT127 on the weekend, hooked up my DSLR and did a quick test video.

Can't post a link yet as I'm a total newbie! But this might work:-

    On YouTube "watch?v=aRvEYNj51Mk"

    - next, need to figure out how to turn the focus knob remotely...

    Default Evening all

    Andy from Wrexham, North Wales.

I've been interested in the sky at night for about 45 years but two things halted my development.
One was a scope bought as a Christmas present when I was about 11 - I could see more with my naked eye!
The other was a response from the Astronomical Society to a letter I sent asking how I could become an astronaut. The reply was obviously designed for someone with a Masters in Astrophysics and I was 13!

I have to admit 'Stargazing Live' has rekindled my interest. Damn, that sounds so shallow. Honestly, I've been stargazing my whole life!

A tour of the web has demonstrated that scopes have moved on and I'm soaking up information to inform a purchase as soon as we've recovered from Christmas!

So there you are, you now know where I'm coming from.
