Out of interest, where do you all tend to go when you want to get out of Bristol for darker skies?

I'm in Bridgend (dunno if that counts as SE Wales, but it's the good side of Swansea) Luckily my girlfriend lives up in the valleys so it's nice and dark up there (though my first sighting of jupiter was from bridgend town centre through my skywatcher 130).

I live just half an hour from the Severn Bridge, just up past Newport.

I'm from Bristol but tend to do more star gazing in the Cornwall area. If we get a clear night here I'll get my scope out but being in the city it's a bit of a struggle to see much.

I live in Newport and bought my first scope (Nexstar 4se) at Xmas. There is not a lot of light pollution in my garden so should have some good nights when the weather clears. I had a great view of Jupiter the other night.
