    Anybody here compare the following?

    Zeiss .965 orthos
    AP Super Planetary
    Pentax Orthos

I'm looking for a 4 and 5mm and wondering what to go for to
    upgrade from UO orthos.

I have both the zeiss and the pentax and there is little difference
between the two, with a possible nod to the zeiss. I suspect it applies
to the APs as well. More than design I think coatings make all
    difference in performance.

If that were true, why would anyone need anything more than a single
    positive element?

Andrea is comparing a collection of orthoscopics, not arbitrary
eyepieces. I suspect he's not talking about arbitrary degrees of
freedom in eyepiece design--just those involved in designing (Abbe)
    orthos.

If that was what he meant (and it didn't sound like it) he'd be wrong
about that as well. All of this B.S. is merely
so manufacturers of eyepieces don't have to submit them to
any kind of real testing, such as testing you'd do on telescopes.
They rely nstead of the word of mouth of "fans" to generate positive
    feedback and sell the product.
