    Default Electronic focuser woes.

Hi, I have been trying to take off the two focus knobs on my Explore Scientific, the side where there are two knobs, one is the micro wheel and the one I am having trouble with, the coarse wheel, anyway the grub screw in the coarse wheel, I think, is rounded, anyone have any ideas as to how I can remove it (the grub screw) without damaging the wheel? I am thinking about getting a Sesto Senso focuser that fits where the two focusing knobs go once they are removed. But before I buy anything I have to be sure it will fit. Anyone help please.

I assume it has a hex key head. I also assume it's metric in size. When they get rounded out, it's usually from using the wrong size hex key (Allen wrench).
You could try the next size up hex key wrench or SAE hex keys as they are generally in between metric sizes.

Next would be drilling out the grub screw or cutting off the knob. If you drill out the grub screw, you would have to tap it for the next larger size.

If you have a Dremel that can rotate in both directions, use a small metal removal tool bit small enough to insert into the hex screw with the drill rotating in the counter clockwise direction. The objective is that the metal bit will catch and unscrew. with delicate work like you will do donotforce anything ,let the Dremel do the work

If the her screw is rounded out, use an easy out bit. Works everytime.
