    Default EQ3-2 & CG4 Mounts

    Hi Guys

Would anyone know whether the EQ3-2 mount is the same as the CG4 mount?

Reason for asking is that i may be able to buy a secondhand EQ3-2 TAL dual axis motor drive which was previously fitted to a EQ3-2.

I have the CG4 and if it fits it could save me a few quid.

    thanks

    Graham

The Skywatcher EQ3-2 and the Celestron CG-4 are nearly identical Synta OEM mounts.

The motor drive accessory package is similar, they use Skywatcher vs. Celestron-branded hand controllers with different firmware and keypad layout.

Otherwise the motor, gear and mount components are interchangeable between either mount.
