Thanks JamesandmyOpinion,I ordered one of these mounts, and am waiting to receive it.Will be using it for an ES102 ed refractor. Did you make any mods to it?.

The only things I have added were the clock motors and polar scope. I have had good success with 30sec exposure on my Canon EOS and with my Neximage 5 cameras.

Thanks JamesandmyOpinion,I have not planned to do any imaging yet,but it is good to know that it is stable, and could have clock motors added

I think the point of the list is low price for what you get. It's a great baseline to ask "Does this more expensive mount give me enough more to justify its higher price?"

I got the Vixen Star Guy mount. It's not on the list, but it's really well constructed and I don't see how I can break it. If I'm using it as a grab and go, I could easily destroy some of the mounts on that list. The table-top mount for certain, and maybe the next two on the list.

I have 2 SLT mounts which are great grab & go goto mounts, a CG-5 with DA motors and a modified ASGT. For visual they are all great mounts and the CG-5 & ASGT can be good for short exposure AP.

I've got the Orion SVP, nice mount, a bit lighter than the cg5 but more robust than the cg4

Appreciate the thought that went into this list, but it was created in 2009 - any chance we could see this updated?
