Default carry and store the CG5

The original box that this unit came in is too flimsy to use repeatedly. Please chime in with how you are transporting your mount. I am thinking of buying the Zeikos HC36 case. the dimensions seem to be exactly right and it will fit the counterweight bar too. Best buy has advertised them new for under 30.00 thought they are sold out right now (and I suspect may stay sold out), next best is 39.00 w/free ship.

    Hey, Jack.

I know this isn't in the ballpark, but I do a lot of public outreach nights and transport as many as 6 scopes and mounts at a time plus all the support equipment to go with them. I need extra protection for packing and transporting all of this equipment so I use Pelican cases. The cases I pack my CG-5s in is a Pelican Storm im2450 case. They run $125, but I don't have to worry about roadie damage.

rtlrp12: Pelican is a dreamy case. yours and the im2400 are the perfect size, but as you say, a bit rich for me. The Zeikos has a good reputation so I think I'll go with that one
