Default Do all scopes work with all mounts?

I have been researching scopes and mounts like mad lately and hope to make a purchase in the next week of entire setup. I'll be replacing a 20 year old 8" reflector that has a beat up old mount. I'll be upgrading to a refractor scope with the goal of both observing and AP. I may be getting a scope from one manufacturer and the mount from another. I just can't find the correct info as to whether or not I'll need special hardware to get them to work together.

I am (at this second anyway) thinking about the Explore Scientific 102mm f/7 APO and leaning toward the Orion Sirius mount. I want to make sure the mount if beefy enough for AP.

Do you think I'd be able to get these two to work together?

While I'm asking questions: Has anyone done a comparison of the Orion Sirius EQ-G and the Celestron CG-5? They seem similar and the CG-5 seems to have a greater load capacity but the EQ-G is around $400 more.

Anyone recommend a nice triplet refractor in the $1000-$1500 range? I'm thinking in the 102mm or 110mm range.

    Thanks for any suggestions.

You can pretty much mount about any telescope to any mount with the adapters that are on the market now days. ADM among other companies make a whole plethora of adapters. I like ADM, always got top notch stuff from them.

I haven't compared a CG5 and a Sirius side by side, but the Atlas stuff seems to be quality gear. Go online and listen to them run. Not picking on any thing Celestron, I have a lot of their gear, but I like the Atlas mounts. Just a personal preference thing nothing else.

I have even manages to make a dovetail fit into an ADM saddle with a little bit of ingenuity. I just stuck 2 pieces of metal to the original dovetail bar so that it could be clamped by the saddle..

So yeah is the answer as Jim said above..
