    Default Gskyer telescopes business closed

Hello everyone, I wanted to provide an update on the company GSkyer Telescopes. I purchased one of their telescopes on Amazon.com, and the paperwork says it comes with a one-year warranty, as does the Amazon.com website. I was unable to find any contact information for Gskyer so I contacted Amazon and spent about an hour with them on the phone. They confirmed that the company Gskyer has gone out of business and the company is liquidating all of their product through Amazon.com. The product is being sold and shipped by Amazon. There is no warranty through the company. However, Amazon has confirmed in an email to me that
they (Amazon) will honor the one-year warranty if there is a problem with a telescope. Amazon stated
they will either replace it or refund the money. I am providing this information because a lot of others have inquired about this company and no one was able to answer the questions. I'm hoping this will help with anyone who was thinking about purchasing one of these telescopes. Please share this info as you see fit.

Thanks for this posting. Everyone should be aware that a "brand" that is merely a proprietary label on a Chinese built product that can be found under many different names on Amazon or eBay is not being offered by an optical company. They are simply marketing and promotion operations, so if they are not profitable they will close, and frequently the same principal owners will be back in business under a new name within a few months time.

As long as you are capable of repairing them yourself, the good news is that you will be able to find parts once you figure out which other "brands" are actually the exact same telescope. The bad news is that most of the cheaper models don't stay in production for a very long period of time, so the parts availability dries up after they are a few years old.
