    Question Astro-Tech 6" f/9 RC Or The TPO 6" f/9 RC -- Which Do I Choose?

    Greetings,

I'm ready to pull the trigger on a 6" f/9 Ritchey-Chrétien (RC). The dilemma: Astro-Tech offers one as does Third Planet Optics (TPO).

Are these scopes identical? The spec sheet and features seem to be identical or nearly so. Is there any reason to choose one over the other? The Astro-Tech version comes from Astronomics and the TPO will come from OPT. Would the seller be the discriminator here?

Why do they do this to us?

Thanks for any and all opinions.

    Cheers,
    JT

They look like GSO's to me, JT, both of them.

I'll say they are one and the same OTA, made by GSO and house-branded for the retailer.

Add to the other two identical scopes, this one:

The GSO 6" f/9 RC from High Point Scientific. So I guess since they are all identical it comes down to which vendor do I want to purchase from?

New question: Who do you prefer working with/buying from?

    1) Oceanside Photo and Telescope (OPT)

    2) Astronomics

    3) High Point Scientific

All three are no sales tax and free shipping. This sounds like an "eeny, meeny, miney, moe" situation!

    Cheers,

All good vendors. I would buy from any of them.
