Default How should I store my SCT?

I park my SCT in my garage with the scope parked at the index marks - that is it points upward with the prime focus end pointing downward. Is there a more preferred position?

I think you will find that how people store their SCTs varies a lot. I like to keep my corrector plate pointed downward if I have it on a mount and tripod. However, typically I store my OTA in a protective case I keep in the closet.

I always point my scopes up at about a 45 degree angle when stored and corrector plate DOWN if stored in a case or on a shelve...

HEAT...and melting grease (that could happen) which could drip down on the mirror is the only reason I do this...
