Congratulations on the new telescope. Look forward to reading your first light report with it.
For those that helped me in my previous thread, Cry for help (buying first telescope), I got my Orion XT6 yesterday!
Setup was easy and I even took it out for a brief look into the skies, even though it was mostly cloudy, I just couldn't resist. I still need to check if it needs any collimation, but I should do a proper stargazing session (or two) over the weekend, and will post my findings.
Anyway, my childlike excitement aside...
Just wanted to say thanks for all the help, and please, if anyone has any suggestions or tips on usage or storage or ANYTHING regarding my scope or stargazing please tell a newb (me).

That's a great telescope and will do wonderful things for you!
Don't forget that just about the most important accessory is the observing chair.

Thanks guys. I am STILL waiting on some clear skies to properly test it out. Weather forecast says only next weekend...![]()
Thank you, I will keep that in mind, I have already started looking at different chairs. Found one that's a good height (not height adjustable). But I will only really know if it's okay once I start gazing for hours on end

drummer stools are pretty much the perfect chair for dobs in the 6-8 inch range
also ive read that the plastic cover for the telescope (the big one for your main mirror) chips little bits of plastic and paint eventually with the wear and tear, you wanna take it off/put it on with the front of the scope slightly inclined downwards so that anything that might eventually chip of flak falls out of the tube, and not into it.
clear skies!

Good luck with your new scope J.
By the way, search this forum for "Lybar chair". Cheap as chips to make and height adjustable (sort of).
