Default I have a question about toy telescopes that you can buy at toys r us or orther...

...stores fro like 60 bucks? ...does anyone know if these telescopes are strong enough to look at airplanes in the sky? I tried binoculars..but i couldn't get close enough to see the names of the airplanes..does anyone know if toy telescopes, (if used during the day) would enable us to see airplanes close and clearly?

I think the problem with looking at airplanes through a telescope would be panning the telescope to follow it. It's hard enough keeping the moon in view (due to the rotation of the earth). So you could likely see airplanes but it would be difficult. Binoculars are easier since their magnification is lower so you have a wider field of view. Though as it sounds you are not satisfied with binoculars. Maybe you could look into getting a higher magnfication binocular?
