    Default WHAT Accessories XT10G ?

I intend to buy a Dobson XT10G and I would like to know how much I need to invest in accessories. What accessories do I need?

Only you can decide how much you need to spend (or can afford), but I will say your fast Newtonian reflector will need good eyepieces to give you a good view. I would much rather spend on a few good eyepieces than on a bunch of mediocre ones.

There are two accessories that I say you absolutely NEED! The first is a comfortable variable height observing chair, this is an absolute MUST HAVE. The other is a set of good binoculars, also (at least for me and most others) a MUST HAVE.

The eyepieces I highly recommend for your scope are the Explore Scientific 68s and 82s (particularly the ES18mm 82). The Celestron X-Cel LXs or Meade HD60s (same EPs) work well. And the GSO plossls (sold under a variety of names) give good service at an economical price.

I would stay away from eyepiece kits, zooms, and Erfle designs (including "Q" series and most 70 degree designs). Also the Baader Hyperions (and similar designed) perform rather poorly in this scope.

I am on my 3rd season with this same scope (love it!) and probably the most useful accessory I have found is a Telrad finder. As Oz said earlier, also a variable height observing chair. My 69 year old back just can't take leaning over for very long, so a chair has given me many more observing hours than I would have had without the chair.
    Happy viewing.
    Peace and clear skies

Check the specifications of the scope you are buying. Mine came with 2" focuser, but also included a 2" to 1.25" adapter, so I could continue to use all the 1.25 eyepieces I already had. It appears from their website that this is still how they are being shipped.
