You there!! Put your hands where I can see them and step away from the credit card!! You have no business putting the card away without giving it one last swipe! Are you feeling lucky punk!? LOL.

Alec the more I browse the more I see what I 'need'. If only! Once you start astronomy you are already teetering on the brink of the abyss and it's only a matter of time before you fall. Seems you only snagged a branch on the way down, good luck with that!

    Cheers

binoviewers work well on DSO,planets and lunar- you do need matching EP's, i had 3 sets of cheap plossls that works well- you need a barlow with it though, the ones that have smaller 1.6X work, but i just used a standard 2X- i think the smaller 'X' barlow is a better choice though, most are included in a kit- i sold mine though, the reason being i only had an EQ mount- if i had a decent alt/az mount id of never sold them

    "I don't need anymore telescopes. Do I?"

Oh, what you just said!! Actually, your compliment of instruments is similar to mine. The short focal length refractor is a "cluster buster", the Mak-Cass is a "planet killer", and the Dob is great for deep sky viewing. However, in my case, I will resell the first refractor that I owned and recently reacquired, and am then looking to get a Coronado PST telescope. So, it seems that it never ends. Be of good cheer, and keep looking up Alec. Then you will find out if you need more equipment in your kit to do what you want to do. Thanks for your fun thread, and best of regards to all.

Alec, I think it is hilarious that you solicited advice here! Isn't that like an alcoholic going to a bar and asking the patrons of that bar their opinion about not drinking anymore! That said, one more scope isn't gonna hurt!

    OK,

So just when I thought I had it covered, my dear friends from Astronomy Forum are telling me that I need........

A Coronado, some binoviewers, more eyepieces (expensive ones if JG has anything to do with it) a 1.6x plossl, binoculars and/or binocular telescopes, an apochromatic refractor oh, and a banana slicer!

I think I will take the Duchess of Windsor's advice
