The title says all.
One that I can carry on my backpack, inside my golf bag or in a airplane cabin.
I know there´s not a unique answer but, as I live abroad , I´ll manage to have it locally, so all different opinions are welcomed!
Thanks for your help!

I would suggest a binocular. They won't get as much attention from the TSA, and 10x50's are good and you won't have to carry around so many eyepieces!

This would probably be my first choice for a portable travel scope. It's 100mm so you still got some decent aperture.
The whole rig can probably be broken down and packed away easily.
This scope, a zoom EP, and some charts would make a nice travel rig.

"I, a universe of atoms, an atom in the universe."— Richard P. Feynman
My Celestron 10x50 is a piece of crap. I have a Octans (I think it´s a local name) very good at 9x60. I just traveled with it and it was a good surprise, my wife (and me) were not very impressed with the 10x50 even when did some non astronomical researches. We went to South africa and mine elephants were much more brighter on the 9x60 one.
I liked the Celestron C90 and the Orion Go Scope too.
What I have locallyy is a Vixen described as :[top]Mak-Cassegrain Vixen VMC110L 110mm f/D 9,4 complete with tripod Vixen mini Porta.
Not the cheapest one but available locally. Do you have any experience on it? I´m sure I can fix a back pack for this. I can also add my EPs, 1.15" on it.
Oh The TSA and me... Last time I flew Sao Paulo-Miami, I had a triple X grade on my ticket... They say it´s routine but, anyway I asked them to have other people scanned as I know what I carry... It was not fun but I understand that we must pay for a baker dozen of people that deserve those treats.
Other than that I have an AstroScan, red, I mean RED, and it seems quite the upper limit for a international flight.
But, I must confirm, I love my AstroScan (bought used on eBay, no flaws), this is the bestseller among my granchildren... They love the bowl-shape, it´s funny intuitive and a good instrument. I don´t want to mess with TSA.
I can imagine my wife learning what´s inside my backpack...
And, you know, at home, I have always the last word - yes. darling!
so let it be...
I need some ideas, my nexrt trip will be Galapagos, maybe if I plant my scop I can crop a big fish, my wife knows but she will not openthe trial before I orivike he...

Hello jglerner,
big binoculars, or a spotter will not attract much attention at the check-ins.
Otherwise, my 6incher refractor and tripod suits comfortably into the golf bag.
