Default Please help with Celestron Ultima LX and Celestron Axioma eyepieces

Hello everyone. I am new here and have a question. I am upgrading my eyepieces now, and am thinking about picking up 1ea of these. The Ultima LX 17mm 1.25/2 inch and the Axioma 10mm 1.25. I have a good 2x Celestron Big Barlow to put with them.
    I currently also have all with a 52 degree FOV ,4mm, 6mm, 9mm, 12mm, 15mm, 20mm, 25mm, 31mm, & 40mm with a 44 degree FOV, GTO Plossils. Plus I also have a sweet 4.5mm Mead SUWA 82 degree FOV,and a 31 mm 2 inch 71 degree FOV GTO Proxima. My scope is a 10 inch Antares f/5 1200mm reflecter on a dob mount, with a 2 inch focuser/1.25 focuser. I also have a 2 inch long focus extender for my 2 inch eyepieces and use a 10x80 spotting scope.
How well do you think the Celestron eyepieces would work with my setup? I have read a lot of good things about them. Has anyone here used them?

The reason I wanted them was to start upgrading them. I am also open to any ideas people might have. The GTO plossil eyepieces are good quality but I want something better. The Mead and the GTO Proxima, I am not looking to upgrade.

The Celestron Axiom seemed to be generally neglected with very sparse reviews until the big sale came along early this year with a 1/3 off/discount. I was able to get my Axiom 23mm for around $200 where the regular price was around $300. There seems to be variances of performance/reviews with different focal lengths with the 23mm and 31mm getting the best favorable reviews/comment while the 10mm is in the so-so category with reported lateral color and ghosting in bright objects, and that the not so long eye relief made the twist-up eyecup when raised vignette the view. But in a star party, I brought along my new Axiom 23LX and was able to test it in a similar scope like yours, an Orion 10" Dob and it performed very well, the the Dob's owner commenting that it seemed better than his Panoptic 27 on the Dob, easy and comfortable on the eyes with eye positioning not critical, good eye relief, no kidney beaning or blackouts, and the object seemed more vibrant (we were viewing the Omega Centauri in its full majestic glory). The Waterloo of the Axioms seemed to be bright objects though like the moon - on an f/7 refractor, moving the bright moon near the edge of the field stop of the 23mm brought out glaring orange color on the FOV edge, it was a shock to see it the first time; but the moon itself looked very good and sharp. For deep sky objects, it's great.

Suggested EP's to consider together with the Axiom are the Meade UWA Series 5000 or Explore Scientific 82-deg., they seem to get as good or better reviews. I have a Meade 6.7mm, see a brief review here (post #53):

Hello, from a Hyperion zoom lover!

Also have an Explore Scientific 14mm-82 deg. coming which I was able to get on sale for $99.
Can't comment on the Ultima LX, not owning one.

    Hope this helps.

    Best,

    Hernando
