    Default Looking for Barlow

Alright So I have a Z8 which came with a 9mm and a 32mm wide angle(I don't know the angle). Since the 9mm only yields about 133x I am looking for a Barlow. A few Questions

-How is that Zhumell 2x Barlow on telescopes.com
-Why are some Barlow $250+ and others 60 or so.
-Will spending less screw up view angle or crispness of image
--If so at what view angle EP will the barlow limit you
--Dose the F ratio of the telescope also determine if you need a good one or not
    --How about aperture
---In my particular situation what would you recommend.

Alright so a lot of questions :P

I have the 2" zhumell barlow and like it a lot. The only other barlow I have owned was $20.00 junker. The views with the zhumell are far better. It is well built and worth the money I think.

How much do you have to spend? I had a cheaper one and I hated it. If you can swing about $100 I'd get a Televue or an Orion Ultrascopic.

I guess I would be looking for a Barlow at the point of diminishing returns. If the difference between $60 and $100 is 98% clarity vs 99.. Thanks but ill keep my $40. I think you get my drift.

I can answer both of those questions by only answering the second. The answer to the second question is "yes, IQ (image quality) on cheap barlows becomes an issue."

So that basically answers to the first question, as to why some Barlows are so pricey.

I also have the 2" zhumell barlow and have been very happy with it, plus it comes with a 1.25" adapter. I also have an orion shorty plus, an older televue 2.5x, plus a couple of cheap meades. Although the orion and televue work well, I mostly use the Zhumell because being a 2", I can use all my eyepieces with it.
