I have never ordered from them so i cant say one way or the other but , I have ordered from B+H photo ... They have most anything professional photography wise and a great telescope selection as well ...There prices seem comparable to other retailers also ..As far as the exclusive scope shop goes ..I like supporting the smaller mom and pop scope shops ..They seem to be more customer oriented ....There prices may be the same or a little higher but i will pay a little more for great service ...
    16in Night sky Dobsonian F4.5 , 90mm refractor 500mm FL , 7in LX200 classic Big-mac , Meade eye pieces with a few odd balls thrown in ...

I've ordered camera lenses, telescopes and mounts from them. Always prompt service and free shipping (domestic) on many items is a big plus. I've only phoned customer service once (an item was backordered so I wanted to substitute) and it was an easy experience. Polite, friendly and efficient seems to sum up their operation.

I purchased from them a number of times, and generally they've been very good. I'd recommend the free shipping, it only takes a few days, no point in paying extra.

They're a well-known and reliable outfit; I've ordered a lot of astro stuff from them online, either directly or through Amazon.com. They ship fast and give timely notices and updates via email, and their prices are very competitive.

    Best,

    Hernando

    Update on my previous comment:
The AstroMaster 90eq md I ordered from Adorama arrived. I put the scope together, had clear skies that night, so had the perfect opportunity to play. The plastic focuser would slip every time I would move the scope to focus on a different object. It "slipped" so bad one time the eyepiece almost fell out. The nut (for lack of a better term) on the latitude adjusting screw came off in my hand. Very frustrating experience with the scope. I boxed it back up the next day, shipped it back to Adorama.

Their return policy, speed of processing was wonderful! No hassle at all. Will be ordering more from them in the future.

Living outside the USA, this is how I do it - order online from a US co., pay by credit card or Paypal, have it delivered to a US address of a forwarding co. then the latter does the job of consolidating orders received, box them then do the overseas shipping to my local address and have it delivered right to my door. The service I use is country specific, but there are other companies that does this service and deliver world-wide, like MyUSAddress:

Get USA Address .Com: Top Three Reasons to Get a MyUS Address

There are various options, just google them. Such services are best used when you have multiple items/deliveries - pay only for one shipping cost later on for all the items. Oh and try to get one that does cargo boat rather than air shipping, it's a lot cheaper and there's no weight limit on the package, but I have to wait around 30 days to get the box - which is no big deal for me. Hope this helps.

    Best,

    Hernando

    Thankyou for that comprehensive reply!

As it happens, I have 2 cousins living in America who would happily send things on to me. The problem I have had is in paying. I tried using Paypal- the obvious choice- but Paypal wouldn't let me enter an American address. I kept trying and it kept saying the postcode wasn't right. My husband checked it and agreed that the mistake was not mine!! I also tried paying with a credit card but again had problems checking out. I am now in touch with Adorama and I am hoping they can help. Unfortunately, the item I wanted has now increased in price and is out of stock- typical!

I may just give up and buy from the UK....and pay over the odds....life is never simple!!
