Angry Why I hate my Baader Hyperion zoom

After reading about the Baader Hyperion Zoom on these forums and others it seemed to me that it was likely a great eyepiece to complement what came with my first scope...reasonable price and very good performance. I don't dobt any of that.
I ordered my zoom from Optcorp (OPT) on 1/1/2010 and still don't have it or know when to expect it. It was paid for 3 days after the order with a US Postal Service money order. I got an order confirmation but other than that the only time I hear from them is when I inquire and every time I do the dates are pushed back. now they say "The Zooms are not in stock at the distributor or at the manufacturer. They have been unable to give us a better lead time then mid late April".
I would try to get my money back but it seems these are not available anywhere right now and at least I'm "in line" at OPT.
So I hate my zoom because I don't have it and not sure if or when I will.

That sucks Tracy. I guess we're lucky when we get our stuff when we expect them. I don't know if this makes things better, but I got the zoom you're waiting on and I think it's great. Good luck.

I love mine! It's worth the wait, but here are a couple of options that might speed it up for you.

As afigueroa mentioned, Scopecity carries them. Hayneedle also has a bunch in route and expect to be able to ship them March 3rd. That's a couple of weeks off but it's better than April.

You might check with one of those and see if they can get it to you sooner than Opt.

I think one of my tenants bought one for Christmas for her husband. I recommended it when she asked me to put together an astronomy kit for him. I have invited him down here for a session next clear night. I am anticipating a head to head comparison with my Celestron zoom. Watch this space.

That sounds great...an experienced viewer with a real comparison. Looking forward to your next gadget as well.

ive been considering buying one. I love my Z10 but i think the celestron filter and lens kit are not good enough for this scope. I get just a little ghosting with these pieces. Its time to buy some good glass and find out what this monster can do
