Default Hello, from a Hyperion zoom lover!

    Hi all!

Pleased.., no make that thrilled, to come on board this eyepiece forum! Been a regular member of the other forum for some time, but this is my 1st post here. I'm a zoom advocate, the Hyperion 8-24mm zoom in particular which I consider to have given me the best value for anything that I ever spent for in this hobby, which I've been to in just 1-1/2 year period, over which I have managed to acquire around 40 eyepieces to date, some of which are:

Baader Hyperion 8-24mm zoom, Hyperion 21mm
    TV Naglers 5mmT6, 9mmT1, 12mmT2 and Panoptic 27mm
    TMB 2.5, 3.2, 4, 6mm's, University Optics 5mm HD, 9/12mm volcano top
Baader Genuine Ortho 6mm, Meade Research Grade Ortho 7mm
    Brandon 16mm, Ultima 18mm, TV plossls 8, 11, 15, 20, 32mm's
Hyperion Aspheric 31mm, Siebert 36mm Observatory, Paragon 40mm, Meade 56mm smooth side, etc.

My scopes are Nexstar 8/CG-5 ASGT, William Optics Megrez 102ED,
Antares 6" 1529 refractor, William Optics Zenithstar 66SD, Orion ST-80.

The Hyperion 8-24mm zoom is my favorite #1 eyepiece to use in all of my scopes. Clear skies to all, thanks.

I am thinking of getting the Siebert 36mm for my Nexstar 8SE, have you any comments on this eyepiece for this scope.

Thanks! My Siebert 36mm is in transit and I did purchase it for my C8 too, will post impressions once I receive it. Have done a lot of research on this eyepiece and from reviews, it will work very well with an f/10 scope like the C8; it is at par, if not more edge-corrected as the Hyperion Aspheric 36mm (from review posts) and will display much less pincushioning than the Panoptic 35, as shown in Harry Siebert's company website. The Siebert 36 may be spartan and industrial in looks (which some people like) but many will attest to it very good performance. A member of this forum has one (Garland - Ebusinesstutor) and I'm sure he'll chime in on his experience with the Siebert 36mm, I don't think you can go wrong with it for you 8SE.

    Best,

    Hernando

Hi Hernando. Welcome to the forum. That's some bunch of eyepieces you have. Most of what I've heard about the Hyperion zoom has been good. I have a few of the Hyperion eyepieces and really like them.

Len thanks! Hyperions are great eyepieces, won't break the bank but performs quite well - I see you have almost the complete set - I would have gotten them myself if not for discovering the zoom early on which is indeed quite a star in the line. As for my other EP's, can't really figure out how I ended up with so many (others still in transit) in such a short period, it just happened I guess, and the collection kept growing. But I've stopped buying though (hopefully ).

    Best,

    Hernando
