Default I could have just destroyed 400 bucks...

So I got my accessories from my friend today... Still no scope yet, but in the package the 35mm panoptic's bottom holder was off, so I went to screw it back on and a lens came out, a big thick one, yes I was cursing... Then while trying to get it back it another lens inside a smaller one kinda got caught on a angle, so I'm not sure which way the big lens goes in is my first question, and how do I fix the other lens is my second question...
I know I'm not supossed to touch the outside of the lens because of the coating...

    Thanks

    Oh boy....

Wouldn't it be nice to be able to rewind time to the point just before that happened?

Anyway, the 35mm PAN is a great ocular...I have one too!

About 3 weeks ago I posted a link to a site with cross section views of various eyepieces, but I'll be darned if I can find it. It might help.....I'll look further. It might give you some insight into getting it back together again.

Hopefully it will help. I called up Televue and it would be 50 bucks plus shipping to repair it which isn't bad at all.
I'm also going to see if someone in the RCAS around here has any knowledge on it and could maybe repair it for me.

Found it in my bookmarks. Nagler cross sections close to the bottom. How about a pic of the pieces?

Al Nagler is the founder of Tel-Vue. I just thought the cross section might give you some insight into how the thing goes back together.

It surprises me that the edges are not blackened. That is one honkin' piece of glass!

Hi Digital.Ninja ...If it were me , i would send it back to televue and have them reassemble it ...Not that you could not reassemble it , But if they put it back together , You know it would be right ...No fingerprints on any of the surfaces ...
A while back , A guy from France had a similar problem with an orion "epic ED " eyepiece , and me being the nice guy , I took my 3.7mm epic eyepiece apart to try and tell him how they go back together , Anyway , Mine now has a couple of fingerprints on the inside lenses and i have more or less just written it off because i hardly ever used it anyway ...Too powerful for the big scope ....
