    I once owned a Meade 5000 super possel (26 mm) and that is the only 5000 I can compare to the Hyperions...

    BUT in this case the Hyperions were BETTER in every way then the super Possel 5000 Meades...Price played no part in the comparison...

    I did not know you could retrofit a Standard Orion Dob with the COL...but in that case I would go that route for sure...(its been 15 years since I last owned a Dob), and I do not keep up with them..

    Oh, I thought the COL was a standalone system that you just clipped to the base and could use on any dob. Maybe Im thinking of something else (or its very possible that I just have no idea what Im talking about!)? Please explain what a COL is! It is not used in conjunction with any motors, correct?
