    Default Help with barlow

The other day my 2X barlow came and i attempted to use it but when i looked in with my 25mm and 9mm eyepieces the image seemed distored or off center. Am i using it wrong somehow?

That barlow should work on your scopes. I'm using an etx 80 and can stack 2 2x barolows. The only thing I could offer with my limited experience is to make sure you run the full range of your focusing device. When I put in a 2x barlow with my 80 I have to turn it 40 full rounds to bring it into focus.

Something you might try is using it in the daytime on an object that stands out. Play around with the focuser with the barlow in and see if you can bring it into focus. Keep in mind to go slow. Seems that the focus point comes and goes really quick so you have to use fine focusing, or turn the main focuser really slow as you approach the focal point. Hope this helps

Now where did I put that clear sky button!

Hi Ryan. Just a thought from someone who doesn't have a barlow. Just throwing something out. Is it possible that the scope itself has some collimation issues and the barlow is magnifying (No pun intended!) them?
