Default Eyepiece Magnification Calc and Simulator

    Hi there!

This is a very basic Excel sheet I made to calculate EP magnification and a link to an Eyepiece simulator that I found.

Hope it helps you for EP magnification comparison.

    Saludos!

I forgot to mention, the modifiable values are:

    Scope name/model
    Focal length (mm)
    Aperture (in)
    EP focal length (mm)
    Barlow magnification

Great idea Jarsinho!!! thanks for sharing that excel file will help me a lot! I tried to modify it but said its read-only. I was trying to add 15mm 20mm and 30mm eyepieces as I have i think 15mm and 30mm wide view ones. Is there a way to add a few more?

Do you mind if we post the excel file as a download in the beginners forum with attribution to you of course ?

    cheers

    Gus,

Glad to see that it is useful for you. You can unlock the sheet under Review -> Unprotect Sheet, the password is astronomyforum.net, I locked it to prevent accidentaly formula deletion, but of course, you can modify it.

As you can see, the sheet puts in red the mags that your scope doesn't support.

    Saludos!

Also, you can overwrite those EP (4.5mm, 5.5mm, etc) and barlows that don't use/have with those you do, and mags will update automaticaly.
