    Default Baader zoom?

The baader zoom ep comes with a 2" and 1.25" barrel. Do you think there would be a dramatic( or any) visual difference in using the 2" barrel? Or is it just a convenience for people with a 2" setup. Thanks, Derek.

Hi Derek ... The zoom comes with both barrels from what i could gather ... One thing i don't care for is the click stop adjustment that limits you to 8-12-16-20-24 settings ..With the meade there is no click setting , meaning you can stop at any setting from 8-24...And the meade is only 120 dollars .. It would be worth looking at at least ...They both have seven elements and are both fully multi coated but the meade is only available in 1.25in. format ....

Somebody mentioned that you don't have to stop at the clicks. They would be for if you wanted to do some math.

Yup Pierre , 'twas me who mentioned that . I have that zoom EP. You can stop between clicks.

As said Baader works at 2" as well , you can also get attachment rings , for attaching a lens thread ( DSLR Lens ).

Its a big ol' EP mind you !

Hello,.,.there is no difference in the view.,1 1/4" or 2" and the ckick-stops are just for convience.,.,you can use it anywhere between clicks,.,making it great for finding that sweet spot of max. mag.,.,the FOV is much better then the Meade.,.the only problem with the Baader is that is so nice an EP that you can't get one without waiting for a while,.,check out the thread,, till i saw her face ,now im a believer,,in the EP forum on Cloudy Nights.,,good luck.,,O+O

The Baader zoom is the Ferrari of zoom EP's hands down. And yes, you can click in between the stops. Like craterdavy mentioned there is no real difference between the 1.25" setup and the 2" setup. I used it mainly in the 2" mode when I had my CPC1100.

And like mentioned above from Cloudy Nights.............if you view this thread you will see why this EP is a "Cult Classic"!
