    Smile GSO SUPERVIEW 68° Telescope Eyepieces Review



    Just picked up a pair of Guan Sheng SUPERVIEW 68° Telescope Eyepieces and I tried the 2" 30mm on my 900mm focal length ED100 PRO refractor pointed at the Milky Way and I really was impressed. I saw uncountable numbers of pinpoint stars in the huge field of view when pointed right at the brightest portion of the Milky Way.



    Great eye relief, and the wide angle views were simply magnificent!! Best eyepieces I have used so far (however only used Plossls from Skywatcher and GSO super Plossls and now Superview).

    Stars were pinpoints all the way to the end of the eyepiece even at the edges. The 2" eyepiece is huge and really fits nicely on the 2" focuser.

    Even better I picked them up for $55 AUD (2" 5 element design - 30mm) and $45 (1.25" 4 element - 15mm)

    I don't have a $20,000 telescope like someone I was with at the telescope store (building an observatory), he purchased ONE $900 eyepiece.... needless to say im happy with what i am seeing through these eyepieces and what i don't know (or haven't seen through yet) won't hurt me... lol

    That's good news, Gus. I suppose you were seeing a 2.2-degree true field of view, or maybe better, with the 30mm at 30x? What's the stated eye relief? Also, I'm glad to hear that stars were clear at the edge.

    I wonder how they would work at f5? It would be interesting to see if there would be too much curvature going on. But being 68-degrees would have less of that than a 82 or 100-degree eyepiece, at least at a modest price.

    I have a 120 f/5 refractor and the 2" GSO's which I have 2 of a 26mm and 35mm and both work fine. $$ for $$ they are good EPs
