Question Meade Series 4000 Plossl Eyepiece & Filter Set?

Hey guys is the Meade Series 4000 Plossl Eyepiece & Filter Set any good?

I saw some good reviews on it, but thinking this is a decent set. Is this much better than the Celestron Accessory Kit?

    thanks

Hey Gus ... I've been building a set of these myself ... they are absolutely better than my Zhumell set (no offense to Zhumell) ...

... if you are talking about the 3-piece set with moon filter (??) ... I picked up a set for about $60.00 from Optical Overstock ... at $20.00/EP (US) you just can't beat the price ...

    Hi Rich,

No worries about the cut/paste, but try to limit the "dead space" in there. I cleaned most of the blank spaces out, plus their copyrighted stuff and phone numbers. Just like using cut/paste, but you just highlight the part you don't want and "cut"..No problemo...!

I should be looking into getting a couple the Plossl designed EP's too, as I've never looked into one..yet.

... that is one helluva set Gus ... as you are into AP you may get some use out of the filters too ...

... heck ... swap out that Barlow for a 20mm 4000 EP and you won't need the Barlow (well .. except for the whole "keeping eye relief thing ... see Vin ... I was not napping in class) ... or using with your camera ...

... fwiw ... that set beats out my "steels and deals" buying off the internet by about $100.00 (US), maybe a tad more actually, especially since they all come with bolt cases and the aluminum case to put it all in ... nice set ...

From that link, it appears that if you are buying a Meade scope you can get the discounted $199, otherwise it's $299?
