Okay ... without starting a new thread ... here's a conundrum ... or maybe not ... but I am wondering if anyone knows an answer ...

Meade 4000 Plossls ... some have white lettering, and some yellow ... anyone know if there really is a difference? ... I have some of each and can't find a difference, but I might not know what I am supposed to be looking for ...

... I don't have any of the "wide angle" 4000's ... so what's up with the color difference, if anything?

Hi bill , I dont know of any difference in them , Of the nine -series 4000s i have , some being super plossls , wide angles and super wide angles only one of mine is painted with white letters . They all say multicoated . The 18mm wide angle says "18mm WA china" and is painted with white paint , the rest are painted in yellow , all others say "the size and multi coated and "PLOSSL" or "SWA" or "SWA" ...But other than the one with white letters , there is no country of origin . And i have all the original boxes for them , they just say the size and meade , no country of origin on them either . I dont know of any other difference . Hope this helped .

Thanks Rich ... I'm guessing that there is no difference, but I was curious if anyone had heard something or knew if there was a difference in manufacture (site, materials, etc.,) even if the "type" had not changed ...
