Default Optimal Eyepiece for a 4.5 Dobsonian

Can someone help me figure out what would be a good eyepiece for my 4.5 Dob? That's F4.5

And from what i remember years back when i was using my scope more often, their are certain brands of eyepieces that have wider field of views,
yet maintain the same magnification? Plossl?

The Celestron Xcel-LX should work well, plossl eyepieces will as well but may have a bit of edge of field distortion at f/4.5 but still a reasonable price per eyepiece.

What is the size of your telescope?

This should give you some pointers for eyepieces for your telescope: Article: What Astronomy Eyepieces should I get for my Telescope?

The weakest link in the optical chain is the large nut located directly behind the eyepiece/ camera. - Gabrielle

thing in some balance of perspective. Apos are awesome, but long focus Achros aren't that far behind them - Siriusandthepup (CN)

Refractors kick arse precisely because they don't hide behind excuses. That is, they have no obstructions to hide behind. - Jon Isaacs (CN)

I really like the ES 82° eyepiece for wide field. They're in the higher end of the cost spectrum but below Teleview, are highly regarded and work well in fast scopes. It would help to know the focal length of the scope before recommending specific eyepieces as well as what the light pollution is where you use the scope and what types of objects you enjoy looking at. I have the 30, 24, 14, 11 and 6.7mm eyepieces in the ES 82° line and spent a year or two purchasing them for my F4.6 scope.
