Default "How to choose eyepieces..." article via Agena Astro

Nice little write-up I thought I would share from Agena Astro and Brian Ventrudo on the subject of the decision making process of choosing eyepieces. Some general, but yet very informative data concerning different types of scopes vs different types of EP's.

Nice article Frankie! Lots of useful info in easy to understand language. Case studies (3x EP sets for different scopes) are somewhat off though. In particular for 8" SCT.

    Hi Bill
They got one right: 18mm (113x) is the most used EP in my 8" SCT.

7 mm however is too much power. I use it maybe once a year on tough doubles. 10-11mm (~200x) is way more useful for 8" SCT.

24mm is nice to have. But if we are talking about 3 EPs + barlow set, I would pick one in 28-30 mm range, better spacing from 18mm, and also if you barlow it you get 14-15mm this is my second most used FL for DSOs.

Thank you for those links, JG. I had missed the one with the One Minute Astronomer, so that one is new for me. I've always held Rod in the highest of regards, and refer back to his astro-blog articles quite frequently. Always an enjoyable and informative read.

Don't listen to them, Bill! You need all the EP's that you can cram into a case. That's my story and I'm sticking to it!
