    Default Another Baader Zoom Owner

Haven't bought a piece for my kit in a very long while, thought it time to treat myself.
Hope I haven't opened a can of purchasing worms!

Congrats and let us know how do you like it. I am tempted to try Mark IV, but was so unimpressed by the last zoom I had - Vixen LV, and don't want to make a pricey mistake.

I'll do that Bigz, I looked at the price of the zoom that starts with an "L", it cost most of my EP budget for the next 2 years!

I like the Vixen LV well enough to keep (I dumped my other zooms) but I like the Baader Mark IV better, to be sure.

I found a good alternative - Baader EP Q-turret. It combines utility of zoom with ability to use my favorite EPs (Orthos, TV Plossls and Vixen SLVs). The only problem is that I have barely enough focuser travel on my travel scope, this is why I am considering a zoom again.

For certain applications (lunar, planets) Vixen LV should work, but it had clearly less contrast and transmittance on DSOs, compared to my fixed FL EPs.

The Baader BCO and Q turret combo is nice. I have 2.

Oh, that's for sure. But that's also why the BCOs and KK Fujiyamas beat out Panoptics and Delos. Less of a glass tax for the photons to pay.

It is hard not to. Even at former higher price it was a great value. Now at $250 per set which includes EP turret, 4 good quality EPs and barlow they practically giving them away.
