    Default Eyepieces for Orion XT8

Funny story - I am on vacation and brought my telescope with me, but not my tension knobs or my eyepieces. I guess in the craziness of packing everything else and going to a concert the night before, I completely forgot obout those things. It's a 7 hour drive back home, so I'm pretty much set on just buying a new eyepiece. I have an Orion XT8 plus. What are some relatively cheap eyepieces good for viewing planets? I'm on an southern east coast beach, and want to see some planets.

Quick side question: How stupid is it to use my telescope without the tension knobs? It seems relatively secure without them, and I will never leave the scope.

If I was in a pinch like yours, I might give these a whirl: https://www.amazon.com/Gosky-12-5mm-.../dp/B00ZNJO8OC

For the cost, they get favorable reviews.

No comment on the tension knobs. I'd say as long as you are reasonably balanced you'd be ok, but, I don't have that scope and have little experience with an XT8.
