The difference between the KK and UO orthos OTOH and the Delos OTOH is slight. It's there but it's small. Whether it matters to you depends on how picky you are.

You may end up preferring the 9 or 12.5 KK with a top quality barlow instead of the 4mm. Even for me the 4mm is troublesome and I can remove my glasses for viewing. The eye relief of the 9 & 12.5 is fairly adequate, and a barlow would preserve that, and at the same time double (or whatever the barlow may be) the magnification. Seeing as you have orthos and TeleVue gear already, I really recommend the TeleVue 2x, or the Baader 2.25x Q barlow. Wile I don't own one at the moment, the TV's I have owned simply disappeared in the view. I'm actually considering re-equipping myself with one.

You don't have any scope at the moment? Rather unique situation, most of us will go on EP buying spree after we get a new scope.

I am sure 14" DOB worth the wait, but maybe in the mean time you can get a small (80-100mm) refractor to play around with your EPs? Most of us have one for grab and go in addition to light buckets.

I have both and also TV 3x. All are good quality barlows. Optically I would give a slight edge to TV 2x and 3x, but Baader Q barlow has more utility with uneven multipliers (2.25x and 1.3x), small size and weight, and more attractive price.

Yes the Tele Vue barlows are perfectly unobtrusive.

As I recall he's limiting himself to one scope. Monoscopy is a virtue I cannot aspire to as I am a dedicated polyscopist.

I very much like the Baader's too.

I used to be a monoscopist, but then I realized life is too short. Could be middle age crisis.

I'm a dedicated polyscopist for practical reasons. "Right tool for the job!". You wouldn't go through life with a single screwdriver, would you? NO! You need different heads of different sizes!

At least that's my rationale or excuse or what ever!
