    Default I need help...

I've only owned one telescope before and it was when I was about 11. My parents were super excited about the whole process but I never understood why until recently I found a Tasco Luminova cheap from a friend of a friend and thought it would be a great way for my son and I to bond. I hadn't realized that this was not at all what I was thinking it would be. But when my son laid eyes on it he was instantly captivated by the awe of the thought of seeing so much without a TV. As a father I'm overjoyed with being able to provide this satisfaction. So I begin to scour the web on how to clean and set up this machine. At first I was fine with the entire process, but as I began to take on this overwhelming project I started to realize this was going to be just as easy as I initially thought. But then came the ugh ohh... As I was cleaning the lense I noticed that there was dirt and dust under the lense. So I took it apart to clean. How hard could it be? As I get it apart the entire assembly falls and I have no idea of the order in which they are too go back together. I have a H 25 mm lense to get back together and any help would be greatly appreciated.

Hi Bradsr87. Welcome to the forums
I can't offer you much help on assembling the lenses, but from what I've heard - and I am not an expert - these 'H' ep's isn't much worth so the damage isn't great. You might be better off buying a plossl as a replacement.

While Huygens design eyepieces are not a modern design they aren't useless. That's what you have. To restore your eyepiece the smaller lens is nearest the with the curved part of the lens facing away from the eye. Next closest the eye is a field stop. It's a disk with a hole in it. The larger lens is furthest from the eye with the curve facing away from the eye.

A diagram can be found in the first few pages of

Here's another image, a design diagram. Good luck. Be careful when cleaning optics.
