Default SWA by Gosky 5 Element eyepiece 15mm Help Assembly

    Hi All,

Last night I was cleaning the outer glass with my SWA 1.25inch 10mm Super Wide Angle 70 Degree by Gosky with a microfiber cloth and optic lens spray made for glasses. And sprayed a lens cleaner (I know I shouldn't have and moisture got inside and fogged up). I got it from Amazon for around $80 and worked great before so now I am pissed lol. I then waited an hour and was still fogged up and was in a hurry to get scope out so i decided to take it apart. I did it and got to the first element and not paying attention the rest of the lenses and a 2 metal metal circles fell out. So basically I am trying to reconstruct it the right way.

I tried to find a diagram on the web and saw some but it wasn't for that lens. Now my question is does anyone know how the lens should be put together? Are most 5 element pieces common on configuration?

I tried to put it back together and may have done it right but not sure. I took some photos of it assembled and taken apart the way I thought it was from memory how they fell out and after a few tries it fit when tightened with that metal ring cap with two notches to turn. Just remember that these images was the order I thought it was when they fell out. I think the lens facing telescope is correct and the one facing the eye in the order but unsure if way it is turned. Thanks in advanced. Also if someone could recommend a proper way of cleaning the lens/product since my microfiber cloth leaves a little bit of tiny fibers on it.

If it is not working properly after you test it, try this configuration.

I use Kim wipes on my lens and a blow bulb. Never, never spray anything on your lenses. I dampen a Kim wipe with a bit of alcohol and wipe the outer lens gently and then use a dry one the same way. That's all you need to do to them. As long as you don't drop these in water, there's no need to take them apart. In your case, I would have used a hair dryer to get the lens defogged.

Thanks both of you. I will try that lens combo if not and will clean it as suggested. Also here is a photo of the side view so you can see the height. I am confused about the metal rings not sure what order one is thicker then the other.

Thanks for the help Wire & Gabby,

I finally had a night to test out the lens (most of the delay was due to the Kim Wipes arriving) and of course the weather. Anyway Here is the correct way I think that it was put together. I say I think because last night was a little bit cloudy/Hazy but compared it with my other SWA 10mm it seemed nearly identical besides the magnification with the details and it focused right with out distoration of the moon.

    An update on the lens.

I got a diagram from the company of the correct way of the 15 mm lens that I took apart. Here it is...
