EP weight as in eyepiece? (that's the proper abbreviation in this hobby). Quite a bit I would imagine. You can certainly upgrade to handle heavier ones. I use a Baader quicklock and 2" Diagonal with my binoviewers.

There is no weight limit, people hang DSLR cameras on the back with no issues, but if you're worried about balance, just add a dew shield to the front (you're gonna need one anyway). The pretty much balances out a 2" diagonal and heavy eyepieces.

The important thing to use a weight set to balance the scope. You want to minimize the load on the drive motors and clutches.

I have used an ES 20mm 100° "hand-grenade" without any problems. But I agree that it is a good idea to try balancing it as much as you can.

    Happy viewing!
