By the way. About the original question. I had both Takahashi Abbe 6mm and KK 6mm. Still want to know?

    There was one difference.
    The price.
It seems that KK is not only cheaper, but fast too.

Thanks for all of the updates and the arrival report. It's always helpful to see experiences in dealing with non-domestic sources and shipping. I'm preparing to get an A/Z mount from England, and can only imagine what the box and packaging are going to look like after their jaunt across the pond weighing a few pounds.
I've had several things shipped from the US to the UK over the years; Most arrived OK (One vanished in transit), from books to chinese brush painting and stained glass related stuff - including a replacement secondary holder from Starizona, and a Kenko Sky Memo mount, and various CDs and floppy discs.

Everything arrived in perfect condition, with two exceptions:

A couple of dovetail plates vanished in transit.

And the Sky Memo arrived with a minor dent in the control panel, but that was probably down to the original packing - The Sky Memo is a very nice portable camera mount - a solid and fairly hefty bit of engineering - basically a metal box built around a worm gear RA drive, with one of the best polar finders I've come across built into the RA shaft. A twin arm unit clamps around the
RA shaft, and the camera(s) / counterweights attach to that. Great engineering, and solid (feels a bit like hefting a counterweight around). It shipped in a very clever bit of cardboard engineering,
with the arm unit alongside the main unit; unfortunately, whoever packed it put the arm unit in the wrong way round, so the clamp knobs were on the inside not the outside, and somewhere along its travels it must have been dropped/slung around and one of the knobs put a small dent in the control panel (There was a cardboard divider between the two, and if the arm had been the other way, with the smooth side facing the main unit, it'd probably have been OK - as it was, all the weight must have landed on the knob, which punched through the divider)

Not sure if they're still available - I found this Hutech Astronomical Products - Kenko Sky Memo Tracker but last time I checked it wasn't in their price list.

You got off well compared to me. I was shipping my Edge 9.25 and it was destroyed in transit. Let’s not talk about it.
