Default eyepiece cup extender (for pieces with long eye relief)

I have an odd problem with two of my eyepieces. I have the 2/1.25 Olivon EPs (in 5mm and 8mm). The eye relief is very generous, at 20mm, but the cup/sleeve on the eye end, even when fully extended, is relatively short. My eye hovers above it (instead of being able to touch my eye brow/orbit to the edge of the cup), which makes it quite tough, especially when observing in environments with a lot of glare from street lighting (which is pretty much all my observing). Cupping a hand over it helps partially. It makes things quite disruptive, because without a good way to keep the head still at high magnifications it's hard to see things.
Is there something I can buy to fix this? Does anyone have any experience or tips to share? I like everything else about these EPs (for the modest price).
    Thanks

I actually figured out the answer to my own question. It's called self-soothing

That's what they look like. I'll measure the diameter on my pieces and order a couple (they come in different sizes). They're cheap enough that it's worth trying. And likely to be better than wrapping a cylinder of duct tape around them, which was the only other idea I had

That works, but I was looking for something less cumbersome. And I'm already concerned about the neighbors calling the cops on the weird guy with scary instruments in front of the house, I don't need to add a t-shirt over the head to that picture...

This is how I handle the issue. Yes, some duct tape, but wrapped around a layer of mate black crafting foam. Voilà! You get removable eyeguard of any length and diameter. Patent pending

This was my first. I am getting better at that, my new versions looks prettier and fit better.

Yeah-understandable concern these days. How about his?https://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/produ...11a782756aeee4
Not sure how it would fit on any old AP though.
I have a pair of bins with these eyecups and they certainly keep out stray light from the sides.
Don't have to worry about light coming in from the nose side as my hooter is big enough to block that...

I've got in the habit of leaving eye cups rolled down. But, as a faint galaxy hunter, I usually have a towel or t-shirt over my head. On non faint fuzzy nights, I just free-style it.

How about a TP40 to hold over the eyepiece and peer through?

When I was in the city I used an observing hood. It was a hood and vest with accessory pockets, very convenient. Perhaps I got away with it because hooded creepy folks blended right in?
