Default What woud be my best EP upgrade?

I have a Celestron Astro Fi 5" SCT WiFi F10 Telescope, which came with a 25mm wide Celestron EP and a 10mm wide Celstron EP. I have also purchased a 2X Celestron Barlow. What would the best upgrade (or addition)for Moon/Planetry observation, and what for DSO observation? (preferably without breaking the bank, though my 70th BD is only a few weeks away!)

If you could please define "breaking the bank" for us. A budget you don't want to exceed will help us make suggestions for you. Personally I like older TV radians and vintage Orthos by Vixen and Tani.

I would say around £50-60 each, or a bit higher if its worth it.

Ok Then go with my first post. Personally I'd go with vintage Orthos. Check your local websites. Ebay is a good place as well. Vixen, Tani, older Celestron (late 60's to late 80's), Televue, Vernonscope. I use anything from 32mm to about 6mm for a super clear sky.

    Hello Barry

as the KK orthos availability is "drying" out in the OLd World, you may add some in the range between the 10mm and 25mm focus lengths.
Thanks to not_Fritz_Argelander, I have ordered one KK Fujiyama from Lacerta in Vienna, https://teleskop-austria.at/index.ph...bis-60%C2%B0#m
This may become a nice gift to your coming round BD,

Hello Barry, have you checked to see if you need to wear your glasses while viewing? You may not unless you have astigmatism.
The ideal eyepiece range for your telescope will be from 10mm - 40mm. Since you have a barlow I would not buy anything below the 10mm

If you do not need to use glasses I would agree with Leveyes choices, or you can check the UK shops for GSO Plossl. Really good for the price ($35USD)
If you can find some Vixen LV or LVW they would work well with your telescope. The LV have a 50° AFOV and the LVW have a 65° AFOV both with 20mm eye relief if you do need it.

All good recommendations. Orthos if you can do without glasses and the Vixen LVs or LVWs if you cannot. Usually astigmatism is the reason why one can't do without glasses.

I suspect or perhaps hope that the KK Orthos will be available again next year. Last year there was a similar "drying up" at about this time.
