    Default My new Abbe orthos

I really like Baader Classic Orthos performance in my scopes. 6mm and 10mm on planets and splitting doubles, and 18mm for pulling tough DSOs. However, BCO come only in 3 focal lengths and two of them are a bit too short for my F10 SCT. So I was looking to get a couple of Orthos in longer range and also try a different Ortho design.

Thanks to the tip from a good friend here, behold my new "Edmund Optics" orthos! As I suspected the only Edmund Optics contribution was to buy them from Japan and place in EO branded boxes. I don't mind really. Fully multi-coated, made in Japan brand new orthos for $50 a piece? To bad they had only two on sale!

Here are unpacking pics. I have been clouded for 3 weeks had to entertain myself.

Thanks nFA. Yes they do look similar. I believe they are the same as HD Orthos sold by several vendors.

Congrats! Those were at a 'too good to pass up' price for sure. I haven't had an opportunity to get the new 25mm in the socket yet, but based on the quality reputation of Edmund products I'm sure it will be a top performer also.
