Default Advice needed for TV Delite EP's

Hi, all! I am considering purchasing a used TV Delite 11mm eyepiece for a 53x magnification with my 8" F2.9 reflector. I had heard the Delite EP's were similar to the Radians, and since the Radians are a bit more rare and out of production, I thought the used Delite series would be a good purchase and affordable to me. Of course, I plan to use it with my other scopes as well. Does anybody have an opinion on this EP?

How would it perform with a 2x and 3x barlows, which would give me 5.5mm at 105x with the 2x barlow and 3.7mm at about 157x with the 3x barlow? I do not have any TV barlows but I am looking at purchasing a used TV 3x barlow and was wondering if it would be okay to use it at such a high power? I know it would have a more limited use on my other scopes.

I have the 18.2mm DeLite. In my experience it is a very well engineered EP. It's not unlike using a very good 60° orthoscopic, giving sharp, bright views with good contrast but with much better eye relief. I find it Barlows very well. It's a slimmed down Delos in many ways.

A good eyepiece, the Vixen LVW is another good performer in this class with a 65° AFOV and is a direct comparison of the Radians, sometimes favoured more than the Radian.
If the price of the DeLite is reasonable I am sure you will enjoy it.

I was hoping to pay no more than $175 delivered for a used 11mm or smaller Delite, but no luck yet. I will have patience. The right EP will come along before the end of the year!

The Delites are just as good as Pentax XW's and Delos, super superior. I've got the 4mm for great hi-power planetary use, will buy more.
All these 3 are a step better than Radians, which are better than most others. Can't hardly go wrong with any of these.

I frequently see the DeLites on the market for around $200, sometimes less. Like you said, just keep a keen eye out and one will come along.

I haven't viewed through one of those yet, probably because of fear of the temptation factor. But I have used the Radians quite a bit a short time back, and they were always amazing to view through. I could imagine the newer model would be even more so.

Actually you will have better chance finding Radians under $170. DeLites is fairly new line, so used market is not saturated yet.

At one point I had 3mm and 4mm Radians and they performed nicely in my ES 102mm APO. I got one of CN, other of Astromart around $150 ea.
